Who May Qualify for Medical, Rehabilitation & Attendant Care Benefits?
Medical, Rehabilitation & Attendant Care Benefits may be available to insured persons who are injured in an automobile accident, regardless of who caused the accident.
Because this coverage remains mandatory in Ontario, it can also be available in certain situations to people who do not have their own auto insurance policy or are not listed on someone else's policy, such as certain passengers, pedestrians or cyclists injured in an automobile accident.
What Can Medical & Rehabilitation Benefits Cover?
Depending on the injury, treatment plan, eligibility and policy terms, eligible expenses can include things such as:
Physiotherapy · Occupational therapy · Chiropractic treatment · Psychological services · Medication · Mobility devices · Assistive devices · Assessments · Home or vehicle modifications · Other eligible rehabilitation services
Should You Increase Your Coverage?
Yes. We recommend increasing both your non-catastrophic and catastrophic coverage limits.
No one expects to be seriously injured in an accident, and we hope you never need to use this coverage. But if something does happen, having the highest limits available can give you and your family greater access to the treatment, rehabilitation and care you may need.
It is coverage we hope you never use, but would want you to have if you ever need it.
