What Is the Dependant Care Benefit?
The Dependant Care Benefit helps with additional expenses to care for your dependants when injuries from an automobile accident prevent you from providing that care yourself.
| Who It May Help | Benefit Amount | What It Helps With |
|---|---|---|
| Eligible insured persons who are employed and responsible for dependants. | Up to $75/week for the first dependant + $25/week for each additional dependant, to a maximum of $150/week. | Additional expenses incurred to have someone else care for your dependants while you are unable to do so. |
Example: A working parent is injured in an automobile accident and needs additional childcare while recovering. The Dependant Care Benefit may provide up to $150 per week toward those additional caregiving expenses.
Should You Purchase Dependant Care Coverage?
If you work and have children such as eldery parents or dependant adults who rely on you for care, we recommend considering Dependant Care coverage.
An accident can create additional childcare or caregiving expenses at the same time you are trying to recover. This coverage can help with those added costs so your dependants continue to receive the care they need.
